What ages and experiences do you teach?
We offer lessons for anyone above 7 years old. No prior experience is required. We welcome complete beginners through advanced riders.
Can adults start riding for the first time?
Absolutely. Many adult riders begin with no previous experience.
What riding disciplines do you teach?
Lessons are available for english and western riders.
How long are lessons?
Lessons are approximately one hour long. Riders who do not know yet how to tack up and groom will practice learning during that hour.
Are horses provided?
Yes. Lesson horses are provided for students unless riders have their own horse. You are welcome to trailer in
Do you offer competitive riding opportunities?
Yes. Riders interested in showing may have opportunities to participate in UDJC shows and other recognized competitions.Â

Scheduling & Policies
Do weekly riders keep the same lesson time?
Yes. Weekly riders typically maintain a reserved recurring lesson slot.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for a 24 hour notice for cancellations whenever possible. Late cancellations will be subject to lesson charges.
Do lessons continue during bad weather?
Safety is always the priority. Weather-related cancellations or ground lessons will be offered depending on conditions. Lessons I provide require on the ground learning and what better way than on a rainy day.Â
Can parents stay and watch lessons?
Absolutely! Parents are welcome to observe lessons unless otherwise requested for educational reasons.

What should I wear to my first lesson?
Riders should wear: Long pants or breeches, closed-toe shoes with a heel, comfortable clothing, and a helmet
Do I need my own helmet?
Yes. Please obtain one that features Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) technology
Do I need riding boots?
Paddock boots are recommended, but beginners may start with sturdy boots that have a small heel.

Is horseback riding safe?
Horseback riding is an inherently risky sport, but safety and proper education are emphasized in every lesson.
How are lesson horses selected?
Horses are carefully matched to riders based on experience, confidence level, and goals.
Can students help groom or tack up?
Yes. Horsemanship and horse care are important parts of the learning experience. Riders will be responsible in grooming and tacking up their mount prior to the lesson and help afterwards.Â
